7 Countries | 7 Days | 7 Shows

Rihanna embarked on a whirlwind tour around the world in just SEVEN days on November 14th-20th, 2012:

Last year, Rihanna was preparing to release her new album, Unapologetic. This would mark her seventh year in the music industry, her seventh studio album and the seventh “era” in her career. In honor of these events, the 777 Tour was born. Rihanna would hit seven different countries in seven days and perform seven shows. For this week’s edition of Vintage RiRi, we will give you a detailed look at each of her outfits during this tour. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Alexander Wang | Adam Selman | Nasir Mazhar | Kenzo
Opening Ceremony | Komakino | Balenciaga | Kentshire | Versace
Neil Lane | Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Rihanna’s 777 Tour kicked off in Mexico City on November 14th 2012. On day one of the tour, Rihanna took the stage in a Black & Red Leather Baseball Shirt designed by Alexander Wang for his Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear Collection. Under her baseball top, Rihanna wore a custom-made bra from designer, Adam Selman.

Rihanna also emerged in a pair of sunnies from Kenzo’s Spring 2013 Menswear Collection. These two-tone sunglasses feature a round silhouette, speckled plastic accents on the front and arms, and a unique keyhole-shape bridge.

Rihanna then wore, Opening Ceremony x Komakino Shorts. The two brand’s came together to create an exclusive capsule collection for the summer. These $445 denim shorts with multicolored rubber straps, feature rolled cuffs, a button fly, along with hip and back pockets. Unfortunately, these shorts have sold out at Opening Ceremony. Rihanna completed this look with black ankle boots from Balenciaga.

By way of jewelry, Rihanna wore an 1870’s Diamond Estate Necklace from Kentshire, and a Vintage Gianni Versace Gold/Silver Medusa motif bracelet from the 1990’s. This bracelet from Depuis 1924, is made of gold plated metal, metal and rhinestones. She also wore estate diamond stud earrings and rings from Neil Lane.

Rihanna wore several other rings. Some of which were Amy Zerner’s $250 Serpent Ring and Meredith Kahn’s $2,500 14K Rose Gold Love Twist Ring (set in White Diamonds). Keep these pieces in mind, as she wore them in all of the performances we will be discussing in this post.

Shaun Samson | Adam Selman | CAST Eyewear | Manolo Blahnik
Kentshire | Versace | Neil Lane | Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Keeping the forward momentum going, we now take a look at Day Two of the 777 tour on November 15th. Rihanna performed in Toronto, Canada in another amazing look. This time, she wore another custom-made bra from Adam Selman, co-designed by Mel Ottenberg, that shows hints of the creative process behind the bralets featured in Rihanna’s very own collection with River Island. On top of that piece, she wore a Grey Bomber Sleeve Shirt designed by Shaun Samson. This $555 collared shirt features contrasting padded sleeves with ribbed knit cuffs and a zippered pocket at the left sleeve. This shirt is currently sold out at Opening Ceremony.

Rihanna complimented her bomber sleeve shirt with matching grey Oversized Shorts that were also designed by Shaun Samson. These $315 shorts feature an oversized wide-leg with a pleated font, along with side and back pockets. At one time, this item was also available at Opening Ceremony, but has since then sold out. Rihanna completed this look with custom-made Manolo Blahnik heels.

Rihanna also presented more fabulous eyewear with this look. She wore CAST Eyewear’s $220 “You And I Are In Love” clear sunglasses. These glasses feature handmade acetate frames with coated lenses. You can get a pair at the link below. Rihanna wore the same jewelry from the Mexico City show that you can take a look at above, from the likes of Versace, Kentshire, Amy Zerner and Meredith Kahn.

Adam Kimmel | Carhartt | Wolford | American Apparel | Tom Ford
Chanel | Lynn Ban | Neil Lane | Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Day Three of the 777 Tour took Rihanna to Stockholm, Sweden on November 16th. For this show, Mel Ottenberg let his creative juices flow once again for this look. After having styled Adam Kimmel for years and being a prime advocate of his Carhartt Collection, it was quite natural for Mel to have Rihanna sport this Adam Kimmel x Carhartt Ginsberg Denim Coat. This $450 single-breasted denim jacket features a button closure, Corduroy collar and four patch pockets, along with a zipped closure at the sides.

Underneath her denim jacket, Rihanna wore a Wolford “Bahamas” White Bodysuit. This alabaster white bodysuit features a scooped neckline and three-quarter length sleeves, essential for flawless lines and an immaculate finish. You can get this bodysuit for €135 (approx. $180.21 US) at the link below.

Rihanna accessorized with quite a few vintage Chanel pieces from my friends over at Depuis 1924. She opted for their plastic Chanel Paris Logo Sunglasses from the 1990’s that feature a circle frame, with repeat “Chanel Paris” logos around the lenses. Rihanna has worn these glasses on a number of occasions this year as well.

Rihanna also wore Depuis 1924’s Chanel Massive Logo Plate Necklace. This Vintage Chanel plaque necklace is from their 1991 Fall/Winter collection and made up of gold plated metal.

To finish out this outfit, here’s a look at the leather belt Rihanna wore. She went for a belt from Lynn Ban’s archives. We are happy to present you with an EXCLUSIVE look at this belt for the very first time, thanks to Lynn! Rihanna again wore Amy Zerner’s $250 Serpent Ring and Meredith Kahn’s $2,500 14K Rose Gold Love Twist Ring (set in White Diamonds).

Rihanna went on to attend an after party in Stockholm, where she changed her attire up a bit. She kept on her Adam Kimmel x Carhartt Ginsberg Denim Coat but changed into this camouflage mini dress designed by Adam Selman. She finished her look with the same Black Padlock Ankle-Strap Pumps by Tom Ford she wore on stage.

Givenchy | Kentshire | Neil Lane | Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Rihanna made her way to Paris, France on November 17th, for Day 4 of the 777 tour. Rihanna performed in one of her favorite designer labels this time around, Givenchy! Creative director, Riccardo Tisci had a hand in a number of custom pieces worn by Rihanna during her Diamonds World Tour. In Paris for the 777 Tour, Rihanna wore a black and red $800 Bauhaus Madonna Print Shirt from Givenchy’s Spring 2013 Menswear Collection. This short sleeve relaxed-fit t-shirt has a crew-neck collar and features a Madonna graphic print on the front in tones of red with a red accent strip on both the front and back.

This is the sick Riccardo stage moment I’ve been waiting for! Loving the easiness of wearing menswear on this tour as a confident sexy look on a woman with major femininity – Mel Ottenberg

Rihanna finished her look with Givenchy’s 1,550 Suede Over-the-Knee Boots. These suede boots feature flared openings that can balance shortened hems or slip over leather leggings. They also feature tonal insets at the opening sides, seaming details around the knee, back loop tops over-the-knee shaft, and a sturdy block heel for balance. Rihanna accessorized with her staple jewelry pieces from the previous days we’ve discussed thus far.

These Fall 2012 Over-The-Knee Boots feature a leather upper that measures at 22 1/2″ and for customization, the over-the-knee shaft may be cuffed. The 4″ stacked heel has a golden inset. She was spotted in these same boots (here), this year in March.

Raf Simons | Louis Vuitton | Acne | Manolo Blahnik
Cutler & Gross | Neil Lane | Kentshire
Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Day six of the 777 Tour was special for those in London, in that Rihanna had two different performances — which also meant two different looks! Rihanna’s first look of the day, was very warm as she stepped out to face the chilly London weather and participated in turning on the Westfield Christmas Lights in Stratford City in front of a group of 20,000 fans and performed her single ‘Diamonds’ live on stage. Rihanna covered up in my favorite color, an electric BLUE double-breasted coat complimented with a white shirt — both from Raf Simons Fall 2012 Collection.

Rihanna wrapped a scarf around her head as well. This scarf is designed by Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton’s Red Shawl Scarf is made of silk and wool.

Atop her Raf Simons shirt, she wore a set from Acne. This blue-and-grey striped sleeveless top with matching pants, were both featured in Acne’s Spring 2013 Menswear Collection. Rihanna completed her look with a custom-made pair of grey heels from Manolo Blahnik.

Happy Ashley | What Katie Did | Manolo Blahnik | Cutler & Gross
Lynn Ban | Versace | Chanel | Neil Lane | Kentshire
Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

Rihanna performed that night in London for her second to last show of the 777 Tour. Rihanna’s stylist, Mel Ottenberg went with an ultra-femme look from Happy Ashley. Her look consisted of Happy Ashley’s Hand Printed Top and Trousers.

This Happy Ashley look was amazing on Rihanna and a fun, ultrafemme departure from the week’s looks. Forget tomboy, we did Shangri-la, casino, bad-gal Riri, Versace girl – Mel Ottenberg

Under her look from Happy Ashley, Rihanna wore a $75 Josephine Bullet Bra designed by What Katie Did. Unfortunately, this bra is no longer available. Rihanna wore a red pair of custom-made Manolo Blahnik heels. Manolo really put their skills to work with all of these custom pairs for the tour! In addition, Rihanna again wore eyewear from Cutler and Gross (from Dover Street Market).

Rihanna sparkled in vintage pieces from Lynn Ban. She wore Lynn’s gold Vintage Versace Medusa Head choker and Chanel belt.

Here, we also have another Vintage Versace bracelet that Rihanna wore from Lynn Ban. Of course, Rihanna wore her Neil Lane, Amy Zerner and Kentshire jewelry too.

Rihanna also wore three Vintage Versace bracelets from Depuis 1924. The first of which, was a Vintage Gianni Versace Medusa motif bracelet from the 1990’s that is made up of silver and gold plated metal with rhinestones. The next one, was a 1990’s Vintage Gianni Versace Medusa motif disk bracelet made with gold plated metal and rhinestones. The last, was one we mentioned previously — a Vintage Gianni Versace Mother of Pearl Medusa motif bracelet.

Adam Selman | Kenzo | Mykita | Alexandre Herchcovitch
Sidney Garber | Kentshire | Amy Zerner | Meredith Kahn

For the coup de grâce of the 777 Tour, Rihanna hit the stage in New York on November 20th! Mel Ottenberg wanted to end things with a bang by rallying in the skills of the talented Adam Selman, who put together a completely custom look for the final show. Rihanna wore a pink faux fur bomber jacket, baseball shirt and shorts from Adam. Rihanna complimented her look with custom-made platform shoes from Kenzo.

New York was about doing a custom look with Adam Selman, my partner in crime and main Rihanna collaborator. We are into pink and wanted to give it another run before the other girls get into it. The look felt like Debbie Harry goes ‘hood’ via rave
Mel Ottenberg

As part of her look, Rihanna wore a lovely pair of sunglasses from a collaborative effort between Mykita x Alexandre Herchcovitch. Rihanna’s Rose-framed “Regina” sunnies are a part of their Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. These are true round frames, with the stainless steel temples placed at the middle of the lens height. The strategic placement of the arm pieces creates a very retro look, while maintaining a modern feel with its thick horn rims. Snag a pair for €299 (approx. $398.66 US) at the link below. Rihanna accessorized with Sidney Garber’s Titanium and Diamond hoop earrings along with the rings that have been an integral part of each look throughout the tour.
