Rihanna covers US VOGUE’s April 2011 10th Anniversary Shape Issue:

Rihanna has recently been seen in and out of a photo studio shooting for what is said to be a NEW cover and spread for VOGUE magazine. In light of that, we will be dedicating the next few weeks of Vintage RiRi to Rihanna’s past spreads in VOGUE. We have already covered Rihanna’s first editorial for September 2009’s Italian VOGUE (here) in our extensive Rated R Fashion Recap. In that post you can also get a detailed look at all of her 2009-10 photoshoots, music videos, and appearances!

Today, we will be covering Rihanna’s cover and editorial for US VOGUE’s April 2011 10th Anniversary Shape Issue. Within its pages, Rihanna dished on family, fame and her views on her body image. The photos were shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 Collection

On the cover of Rihanna’s April 2011 VOGUE Magazine Issue she took on look that was reminiscent of The Little Mermaid character, Ariel by wearing her fire-red hair cascaded to one side as she posed. The embroidered dress she wore on the cover was pulled from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2011 Collection.

I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy –Rihanna

Max Azria | Hervé Léger | Alexander Wang

In this photo from the editorial, Rihanna showed off her amazing body in a swimsuit designed by Max Azria for Hervé Léger. Since the Hervé Léger company was established in 1985, it’s always been known for its signature bandage dresses. However, in 2009 the company introduced swimwear to their collection. Rihanna along with several celebrities made these suits a hot commodity in 2011. The unique thing about these ‘swimsuits’ is that you cannot actually get them wet! Online stockists of these swimsuits held out this disclaimer: To get the best from your Hervé Léger beachwear we advise you do not wear it in water. Check out more from the collection below.

Donna Karan New York (DKNY)

Rihanna donned a burgundy pixie cut in this photo from the spread. She wore Donna Karan New York’s (DKNY) Midnight Blue Bodysuit. This jersey bodysuit with a plunging neckline retailed at about $695.00.

For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it –Rihanna

Lanvin Spring 2011 Collection

During this part of her beautiful spread, she posed for a few action shots on the beach. Here, she is wearing a One-Shoulder Dress from Lanvin. You can peruse Alber Elbaz’s Spring 2011 Collection for more below.

Sonia Rykiel | Lanvin

Although, the previous outfit we discussed was the last garment featured in the physical copy of the magazine, the iPad edition of her issue afforded the reader two more looks. Rihanna finished her look with Spring 2011 Black Leather-Strapped Fishnet and Mesh Pumps from Lanvin. These sheer fishnet and nude mesh pumps feature a gunmetal stiletto heel that measures approximately 125mm and a 25mm stacked platform. Her pumps also have a round toe, and a crossover black leather buckle-fastening ankle strap.

I hate anything that’s too straightforward, too routine, too familiar. I get bored really, really quickly –Rihanna

Lanvin | Christian Louboutin

In this final photo from the iPad Edition of the April 2011 VOGUE Issue Rihanna posed from behind wearing another dress from Lanvin’s Spring 2011 Collection. The brown sleeveless dress was left unzipped to show off Rihanna’s back and legs.
