Rihanna for W Magazine September 2014

Rihanna for W Magazine

Here are the fashion credits for Rihanna’s editorial spread for W Magazine:

Rihanna has taken the cover of yet another magazine! We’re always excited to see her editorial spreads as well as the covers that go with them. Rihanna is the cover star of W Magazine. She has been donned The World’s Wildest Style Icon by the magazine! Today we’ll be giving you the exclusive look inside the spread shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The most amazing part of this spread is that Rihanna posed along side some iconic names in the modeling world: Iman and Naomi Campbell! With that being said, let’s dive right into the photos!

On the cover of W Magazine’s September 2014 Issue, Rihanna wore a Donna Karan New York dress along with an Ashley Lloyd headdress. Her jewelry consisted of an Amrapali ruby and diamond ear cuffs, Meadowlark Small Thorn septum ring and Stephen Dweck’s sterling silver and pyrite necklace.

Let’s take a closer look at the dress Rihanna wore on the cover of the magazine. In this outtake from the shoot, we can clearly see the beauty of the gown she wore right off the runway of Donna Karan’s Fall 2014 Collection! The floor-length gown is sleeveless and features a plunging neckline. You can review the entire collection below.

The spread gets its start as Rihanna poses in an Ashley Lloyd headdress with Erickson Beamon earrings and a Rachel Boston septum ring.

The next couple photos within this spread that we’ll be discussing are some of the most stunning! As we mentioned at the outset, Rihanna posed with supermodels, Iman and Naomi Campbell. What made these photos even more special is what their wearing! The gentlemen in this photo with them is none other than Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing! The girls are all rocking pieces from his Fall 2014 Collection. You might remember the look Rihanna is wearing from an early reveal we gave you on Instagram. As you’ll notice in the photo from the runway, Rihanna is sporting the entire head-to-toe ensemble.

This photo from the spread is a favorite of ours! Rihanna posed with Iman and Naomi in more from the Balmain Fall 2014 Collection — as did both Iman and Naomi. This time, Rihanna wore a lovely yellow dress with rope-like detailing and intricate embellishments. You’ll notice that she’s also wearing the same necklace from the runway as well.

In this next shot, we once more find all three of the ladies in pieces from the Balmain Fall 2014 Collection. They all look stunning in their safari colors! The look Rihanna wore picks up on the same color scheme as the outfit she wore to the presentation of this very collection during Paris Fashion Week. The braided detailing along this pleated dress is to die for!

Now, in these next few shots from the editorial Rihanna proves herself to be a “Creature of the Night”. With her face covered in what resembles native paint, Rihanna covered her head in a coat from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2014 Collection. Rihanna then wore earrings and cuff bracelets from jeweler Alexis Bittar. In her nose, she wore her favorite Meadowlark Faux Small Thorn Septum Ring. On her feet, Rihanna wore thigh-high boots from Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 Collection.

Rihanna posed head on in these photos. In the first here, Rihanna wore a Helen Yarmak coat along with a Nicole Miller Artelier Skirt. Rihanna wore a few designer pieces in her hair that included a Yves Salomon Fur Stole, a Brown Fur from Leather, Suede, Skins, Inc., and a Candice Angélini mask. You can take a look at a similar one above.

In this photo, Rihanna again wore her Amrapali Ear Cuffs and Meadowlark Septum Ring. Of course, the look wouldn’t have been complete without some stunning pieces from Lynn Ban. Lynn’s team told us exclusively that the bone cuff bracelets she wore were bought by Lynn in Indonesia. The custom skull choker really caught my eye! This piece is a vintage find that Lynn got from PureVile. Rihanna’s style team nabbed these pieces at the very last minute!

Here, Rihanna is sporting the go-to Septum piece for this portion of the shoot from Meadowlark. She’s also wearing a Comme des Garçons coat. Another interesting tidbit we found out about the Lynn Ban jewelry she wore are these earrings in particular. Lynn designed these earrings years ago but never released them because they’re too heavy. As we can all clearly see, they worked well for Rihanna in this shoot!

In this last one that we’ll discuss, Rihanna stuns in high fashion coats designed by Michael Kors. The coats were a feature in his Fall 2014 presentation. As we mentioned earlier in this post, Rihanna is also wearing a beautiful headpiece designed by Ashley Lloyd. You can take a look at her wore from her official website. In her hair as well as on the Isabel Marant boots that she wore in this photo, Rihanna sported Leather, Suede, Skins Inc. Fur. By way of jewelry, Rihanna wore a large necklace from NN by Nghi and a Diaboli Kill Damien ring.
